FILMMAKING
About & Experience
Beginning
â
Isabella's love for filmmaking started since she was very young and when her friends were over, she made it her top priority to make a skit or short film with them. She would direct her friends and tell them what to do and what to say, would record the film by herself (unless she was acting in it), and edit it afterward in apps like iMovie, Kinemaster, and Capcut, adding text, VFX, SFX, and even music. Even though the process might've been long and lengthy, it was all worth it when her friends and their parents had incredible reactions. These short films ranged from comedic skits called "The Tiny Catastrophe" and "The Thing in My Backyard" to dystopian sci-fi films such as "Swept Away," a film Isabella made for her school science project almost 20 minutes in length. Isabella has made a total of over 30 live videos, whether it be a skit, music video, lip-sync video, documentary, or animation.

SCHOOL
â
In middle school, Isabella also had the pleasure of being one of the two news anchors for her school news. She would record videos every day to be featured on the news, alternating who would edit them with her co-anchor. Once each video was done, the girls would post their new video on the Microsoft Stream for their school to see the next day. These videos consisted of 8 main segments: an introduction, an introduction video to the news, the announcements, the yearbook, a kindness quote, E.D.I.A.H. (Every day is a holiday), the weather, and an outro. When it was her turn to edit, Isabella would take the time to make each news video entertaining and exciting to watch while still keeping it professional. She did this by adding simple text, fun transitions, trendy background music, and by including comedic skits in the segments of "E.D.I.A.H." and "the weather," even creating puppets to keep viewers interested. The two girls also created two of their own series called "Spelled" and "The Crazy Series" which each consisted of a trailer and three-four entertaining videos edited and directed by Isabella and her co-anchor, releasing over the course of two months.

school promotional VIDEO
â
Later on, in high school, Isabella was chosen to make an updated promotional video for her school in January 2023. Upon being selected to do this task, Isabella created a script and generated several ideas to make this project successful and influential. She then met with her interviewer (who was cast to interview the staff and faculty at the school) and filmed several departments including music, theatre, science, athletics, etc., and even the principal and vice principal over the course of a few days. After editing the video in Final Cut Pro for over 10 hours, making sure to make it engaging and exciting through bright and bold text, upbeat music, and seamless transitions, the 10-minute video was finally done. Even though this was one of Isabella's first professional projects, she did an outstanding job and her video is now being shown to incoming middle schoolers who want to attend her high school.

YOUTUBE
â
Outside of school, Isabella has also filmed and edited videos on two of her own YouTube channels, Director Melody and Isabella Silva. On her channel, "Directed Melody," she's made over 150 Roblox gaming videos featuring skits, music videos, and two series called "Celest's Guide To Royalty" and "The Crawling." She started her channel in June 2019 and has gained over 60,000 views so far. On her more recent channel, "Isabella Silva," she creates lifestyle, productivity, music, and art-related videos occasionally releasing short films/skits. She created this channel as an outlet to express her creativity and her love for filmmaking and editing as she now uses a new and more professional software, Final Cut Pro. Even though she just started her channel in January 2022, she's gained 40,000 views and hopes to grow more in the future.
Skits
"The Vanishing Of Will Byers ON A BUDGET" is one of Isabella's horror skits she made based on the hit Netflix series "Stranger Things." While she and her friends were on a camping trip in July 2022, Isabella directed, filmed, and edited this amusing parody video of the first episode of the series following Will's capture by the Demogorgon.
Music Videos
"Anti-Hero Taylor Swift Parody Music Video" is one of Isabella's many lip-sync parody videos she filmed, directed, and edited in January 2023. It's based on the famous pop star's music video of the song "Anti-Hero" as Isabella filmed similar clips that can be seen in the video with her own twist on it and while on a budget.
Animations
"Eleanor Rigby | 'Lockwood & Co.' Animatic" is one of two animatics Isabella has created. Although animatics are mostly an art form, Isabella made the storyboard for this animatic and designed how each frame would play out during each scene. She also edited the video adding effects, transitions, and music playing along to the story based on the book series of the same name.
