CONTENT CREATION | VIDEO PRODUCTION & EDITING

THE ASK

​​​In August of 2024, I was asked by Christie Cronan, a popular content creator and brand collaborator online who manages her brand Raising Whasians on Instagram (@raisingwhasians, 30k+ followers), to assist in the filming process for brands Sylvan Learning and Aleve that had reached out to her to develop content. Both brands approached this opportunity with an influencer marketing perspective and asked for short-form reels as the final deliverable. 

At this time, Sylvan Learning was focused on a back to school campaign, meaning my reels captured and focused on the assistance that Sylvan Learning can provide when a child is struggling in an overwhelming or stressful educational environment. For Aleve, my approach was more general, and my reels highlighted the relief Aleve can provide in various physically demanding positions.

I assisted in pre-production and production for all reels with both brands, and completely managed the post-production and editing process for all reels with Sylvan Learning. Additionally, with Sylvan Learning, I pitched concepts to the brand and completely ideated the plot with a storyboard and script for each reel, outlining shots, editing guidelines, and including all actors involved and actions performed. I also wrote the voice-over part, was in charge of wardrobe, and selected the background music. For both brands, I completely directed the actors and filmed all scenes.

In the end, I completely oversaw the creation of 3 30-second reels for Sylvan Learning and the creation of 2 10-15 second reels for Aleve. Sylvan Learning's reels were shared within their internal advertising services on their social media platforms, whereas Aleve's reels were showcased directly on their instagram page (@aleve_us).

Objectives: 

  • Advertise Sylvan Learning's commitment to education and academic understanding, and Aleve's relief and physical assistance it can provide.

  • Create reels that are entertaining and excel in audience engagement and retention.

Outcome:

  • ​Captured both brands' intentions with specific shots that outline them through a complete story.

  • Ensured reels were fast-paced, engaging, and simple to follow and understand to ensure retention.
